A comprehensive digital blackout is in effect—no phones, smartwatches, or earbuds. The library is reduced to a single, state-mandated text. Even the humble bag is deemed an unwelcome companion. This orchestrated environment is designed to isolate and measure pure professional competency, setting an uncompromising standard for the next generation of Filipino architects.

This document serves as the authoritative program for the forthcoming Architect Licensure Examination under the auspices of the Professional Regulatory Board of Architecture. The two-day assessment, set for January 20 and 22, 2026, is meticulously structured to evaluate core competencies. Day One encompasses two five-hour sessions covering theoretical and practical domains, each weighted at 30%. Day Two is dedicated entirely to the pivotal Architectural Design and Site Planning module, constituting 40% of the total score. Compliance with all subsequent general and special instructions is mandatory for admission and participation.

YOUR PRE-EXAMINATION CHECKLIST: THE NON-NEGOTIABLES

1. VERIFY YOUR COORDINATES.

Your first official act must be to confirm your precise location. Check your school/building assignment:

On the official PRC website (www.prc.gov.ph).

On notices posted at PRC premises 2-3 working days before the exam.

2. ARRIVE WITH THE SUN.

Report to your assigned building before 5:30 AM on the first day. Punctuality is paramount. The gate closes on latecomers—no exceptions. Use this time to verify your specific room and seat number calmly.

3. THE UNIFORM: A WHITE CANVAS.

Professionalism is worn. Your attire is prescribed:

All Examinees: A plain white collared shirt/blouse/polo (absolutely no seals, logos, or marks).

Men: Decent pants or slacks.

Women: Decent pants, slacks, or skirts.

YOUR EXAMINATION DAY TOOLKIT: WHAT TO BRING

Pack these items the night before. Organization is the first test.

FOR BOTH DAYS:

Notice of Admission & Official Receipt (Your entry tickets).

Writing Implements: Two or more No. 2 pencils and black ink ballpens only.

Envelopes: One (1) metered-stamped window mailing envelope, one (1) long brown envelope, and one (1) long transparent plastic envelope (for your allowed valuables).

Calculator: ONE non-programmable calculator only, as per PRC Resolution No. 1809-2024. It will be inspected and reset before the exam.

Sustenance: Packed snacks/meals, water, and necessary medications in transparent containers. Once the exam begins, you cannot receive anything from outside. Plan accordingly.

FOR DAY 2 (JANUARY 22, 2026) – THE DESIGN DAY:

Drafting Tools: Architect scales (English & Metric), 30x60 & 45-degree triangles, protractor, drawing pens, erasers.

Materials: Graphing/bond paper, pencils.

The Code: A printed, unmarked copy of Rules VII & VIII of the 2004 Revised IRR of P.D. No. 1096 (1977 NBCP). Any markings found will lead to confiscation.

SURRENDER NOTICE: All papers used (graphing, bond, the printed Code) must be surrendered to room watchers after the exam. You may not remove any paper from the room.

THE ABSOLUTE PROHIBITIONS: THE RED LINES

The following items have no place in the examination premises. Their presence constitutes a violation.

Unauthorized References: Any books, notes, or coded materials (except the specified NBCP Rules).

Programmable Calculators & Banned Models: CASIO FX991ES and similar programmable devices are forbidden.

The Digital World: Apple, Samsung, or any smartwatch, cellular phones, earplugs, Bluetooth devices, portable computers. This is a digital blackout zone.

Bags: All types—ladies' bags, backpacks, attache cases—are prohibited.

Anything Unspecified: Proctors have the authority to disallow any item not explicitly listed as allowed.

A Critical Note on Inspection: PRC Memorandum Order No. 57 (s. 2020) empowers examination personnel to conduct bodily searches and inspect personal belongings to ensure safety and safeguard the exam's integrity. Your cooperation is mandatory.

THE LEGAL LANDSCAPE: UNDERSTANDING THE STAKES

The instructions are not mere suggestions; they are underpinned by law and grave professional consequences.

Cheating is defined with sweeping clarity, encompassing:

• Impersonation, collusion, or using "codigos."
• Possession of any prohibited device (programmable calculators, phones, smartwatches).
• Copying, communicating, or leaving distinguishing marks.
• Simply having a prohibited item in your possession can be construed as an act of cheating.
• Prohibited Acts include bringing weapons or alcohol, disorderly conduct, and receiving items during the exam.

Consequences: Violations lead to immediate incident reports, disqualification from subsequent exam subjects, and formal administrative investigation that can bar future licensure.
